Hopeful & Happy

I had a very important meeting yesterday that will have a big impact on the future of my career. It was in the big city about 2 hours north of where I live.

I left early and spent the morning and early afternoon working hard to take a big step (actually a giant leap) in a new direction. Everything went very well, and I am feeling very, very, VERY hopeful...and happy!

When I got back home, I went for a run in the park.

However...I didn't run far! My shins were absolutely killing me. I think I might have shin splints, and I was in a lot of pain. Walking was even hard, but it was such a gorgeous day that I wanted to at least hobble through the remaining mile to soak in the sun and breeze.

I went home and iced my shins for much of the evening. Today, they are still a little achy. I will try more ice as well as heat. I have a big race this Sunday that I am running with my dad, my sister, and my sister's bf. I absolutely cannot miss this race...so I will have to just tough it out (read how the race went here).

I'm staying with my sister this weekend, and we have plans to workout (I'll be on the elliptical since my shins are bothering me) and layout by the pool. If there's one thing I'm missing...it's definitely BEING TAN!

All in all, things are looking up. Even I know it sounds crazy, but I feel like the increase in my medicine (read about that day here), even though it's only been a couple days, has helped me. Or, maybe I am just feeling good because I am making positive, healthy choices and doing happy things in my life. Either way, I'm liking how I'm feeling...and I really want this feeling to stay. This, of course, is up to me - how I deal with life, and how I fight through the rough times to get through to the better times.
